Since the concept was based off children’s nursery games and development, I based the render editorials on stacking play blocks.

Posie Equate

Packaging / Visual Identity / 3DInstructors: Jessica Deseo, Andrew Gibbs, Javier Palomares

Posie is a refillable baby product line for Walmart’s private label Equate. This refill system is designed with longevity in mind and conscious consumption by combining permanent packaging solutions with easily compostable single use products alongside refills.

The system can be understood in 3 steps:

  1. Every first time purchase comes with a pod in the container.
  2. Refill pods are sold separately after the first use. Each product is categorized by color (ex: blue = baby wash).
  3. The refill system is implemented by discarding the used pods (made from paper pulp), and replacing it with a new pod into the container space.

Hypothetical Rebrand Concept

Sensory Fun

A refillable baby line of hygiene products inspired by bath toys that promotes playtime with your baby.

The materials are based on permanent plastic solution with fun textures that encourage a playful environment. Through the inspiration of rubber ducks & other bath toys, Posie encourages a safe space for babies by keeping them entertained during an overstimulating experience such as bath time.

The products are designed with longevity in mind, making them repurposable even after their first years.

Posie: Behind The Name

Posie comes from the old nursery rhyme “Ring Around the Rosie” which refers to a bouquet of small flowers commonly used in the early 1900s. I felt that the connection to nursery songs ties with the concept of play and connection.

Hero item, Posie Mild Baby Wash.

I designed the baby wash bottle with the perspective of caregivers during the bathing process. How can a bottle so big be easy to hold and prevent injury?
A wider bottle helps to grip the bottle and the silicone material used for the container also prevents injury.

Color Palette & Shape Language

I was drawn to brighter tones because of the positive effect on children's learning and emotions. The flower shape is the physical representation for a posy. When the product line stands together they become a bouquet of posies.
